Hey Friend - I'm Sam!

and storytelling is my Jam

I am inspired by everything and see almost anything with a creative eye. Rain drops on a flower, the way the light hits your veil, the way you look at each other framed by your guests or the candle light on your hands that are grasped together while you listen to your closest people share words about the greatest love, your love.

I am unapologetically awkward but also an awesome hype woman. I thrive off of good vibes and conversation and I absolutely love when my clients message me at midnight because they found their dream dress, or to send me photos of their latest mood board finds.

I have a golden retriever heart and will most likely cry during your vows but YOU KNOW I will also be on the dance floor hyping all of your guests up for some awesome flash on dance photos!

My approach

I pride myself in telling all of my couples stories of their wedding day through beautifully captured and put together wedding galleries with a mixture of digital and film photography.

My style is inspired by a mixture of old editorial film, cinema stills and documentary photography. I like to say I take a very fly on the wall approach to a wedding day BUT I'm often told it felt less like having a fly there and more like another friend.

I live for capturing those in between moments, the emotions in the first look, the laughs during cocktail hour, the tears during speeches - and you can expect to feel all of that in your gallery.

After all.

This is your movie, I’m just here to freeze the moments.

FAQ

What areas of ontario do you serve?

While I am based in and live in Northern Ontario, I photograph weddings all over Ontario - I won't be able to list everywhere, but some main areas I photograph weddings and sessions are Manitoulin Island, Toronto (and all of the GTA), Hamilton, Niagara, Collingwood, Coburg, Stratford and so many more places. If our vibes match up - you can ask me to go anywhere!

How would you describe your photography?

My photography and outlook on photography are inspired by old editorial film, cinema, and the beautiful chaos that is life. My aim is to create galleries that make you feel the moments, that tell your story. While I would mainly describe my weddings as more documentary with pre planned unique shots - my couples and engagement sessions are more natural and cinematic with direction and a goal for your session to look like a movie.

How many weddings do you take on a year?

I generally only take on 15-18 weddings a year as I am so involved in my photography business. In a world where I find everyone is trying to do more and faster, and off load work - I try to slow down and get to know each of my clients, their wants and needs. I love working with my clients to create unique mood boards and shot lists before hand so that they are able to enjoy their day candidly while I get creative with details and capture the day as it unfolds.

do you offer film photography?

That would be a BIG YES - I have quickly become overly obsessed with film and hope to one day be offering full day film packages but for now I offer a mixture of digital and film. Once I picked up the film camera, I have not been able to stop - there is just something about film that stops you in your tracks and makes you take in the moment like you are looking at your grandmother's wedding day album. All of my packages currently include some film and I offer film add ons if you value the true film feel throughout your gallery.

Kind words from

Shameeha + Nafiz

Sam, you blew us away with your creativity and quality of work. The first time I saw your page, I knew that this is the vibe I wanted for our wedding. From beginning to end, your communication was excellent. We felt like you listened and cared and that was evident during the day of the wedding as it seemed like you knew our itinerary by heart. I truly mean it when I say hiring you was the best decision we made for our wedding.
